Hi I’m Peter

I founded Sweep Our Soot Chimney Sweep in 2013 after having had my initial training. Since then I have worked hard to provide a professional, cost effective and reliable service for my customers by keeping your chimneys, fires and stoves safe and clean throughout the burning season. In 2022 we moved to Norfolk and I have transferred my business to this location from Leigh on Sea, Essex.

Having worked in the South Essex area for 10 years I found the people to be both friendly and welcoming and have no doubt that this will be the same in Norfolk. These are characteristics that I have endeavoured to take on myself.

Most of my working life has taken place in London and the Essex area so it is exciting to have moved away from that region to take on further adventures within Norfolk and its people.

Not wishing to remain stagnant I have continued with further training in order to keep up to date with changes within the sweeping industry. I am a member of the National Chimney Sweeping Safety Association who insist on me having up to date equipment and knowledge in order to carry out my job successfully.

Back in April 2019 I completed and passed the OFTEC Stove installation course which has given me great insight into how stoves are installed and the knowledge to locate any faults with stoves that have been fitted. I am not intending to install stoves but if you have any issues regarding your stove and it’s fitting then please get in touch and I can help you out regarding any potential faults.

The Chimney Sweeping industry is undergoing change in relation to bringing the industry and sweeps up to a set standard. This is being bought about by obtaining the NVQ in chimney sweeping and technical issues with regards to fire places and stoves. I am pleased to say that I have passed the NVQ and am one of only a few sweeps within Norfolk that currently hold this qualification an achievement that I am very proud of. So if you are looking for a Chimney Sweep then keep your eyes out for the NVQ logo on web sites as you will know that the sweep has been assessed to a high standard and will be able to give you excellent service.

There is currently a lot of concern from DEFRA (the Department For Rural Affairs) and the Government with regards to pollution caused by Wood and Multi Fuel stoves. The honest answer is that there is minimal pollution caused by stoves as long as what is being burnt on them is well seasoned wood and not old fence panels, treated off cuts of wood and any other item that could be burnt.
